Math is Important for Academic Success
I am a credentialed math teacher, currently tutoring students in the Palos Verdes Peninsula and San Pedro area. My pupils include elementary students working to master the fundamentals of arithmetic, middle and high school students needing support with Algebra and Geometry, and community college students wanting help preparing for their math placement exams. I tutor more than math; I support my students in learning organization skills and study skills.
Why is academic success in math important?
- In today’s competitive academic environment, every student will need to master mathematics in order to achieve success.
- Math builds critical thinking skills: Students who excell at mathemathics are able to conceptualize, synthesize and evaluate information.
- A solid foundation in math is required in order to study higher level mathematics, physics, and engineering.
